Dear Jack,
You will be 16 months old in about a week, but I thought I'd go ahead write this, so I could be ahead of the game for once!
At 16 months, you are sweet, funny, cautious, shy around new people, playful around people you know well, curious, laid back one second and very determined to do what you want to do the next, content to play by yourself and timid sometimes around other kids, snuggly when you're sleepy, but otherwise very busy and on-the-go all the time.
You love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, your paci and your "lovey" (small blue blanket with your name on it), books, and any object that you can hold in your hand and walk around the house with. You love to find bottles and things under cabinets and in drawers and walk around the house just holding them! You also love to just sit in your room and flip through books! You love small dogs, especially Mac and Babs' dogs, Bitzy and Lilly. Big dogs frighten you a bit. You love to go to the playground to swing and slide down the slide, and you love to play and "rough-house" with Daddy.
You love your daddy and watch every thing he does. You recently found his razor in the bathroom drawer and put it up to your face like you were shaving! So cute. You've really started to notice different objects and notice how we use them, particularly, dad's razor, a q-tip, which you tried to "clean" your ear with, a phone, which you'll hold up to your little ear and say "lello", and a toothbrush!
You are NON STOP, Jack Little! Church services have become quite the challenge! The only way we can get you to sit still is with a snack. Otherwise, you want to be on the ground walking around.
At your 15 month check-up a couple of weeks ago, you weighed 22.5 lbs., which put you in the 25% for your age. You were 25% for height as well and 90% for head - you've got a big noggin', buddy! You are wearing 18 month size clothes and are currently in size 4 diapers.
You have about 6 teeth that I can see.
You are still taking two naps a day, both usually lasting anywhere between an hour to an hour-and-a-half. You still go to bed around 7pm and wake up between 6 and 7am.
You still aren't saying many words, although sometimes we'll say something and it sounds like you are trying to repeat it. You can make several animals noises when prompted - horsey, cow, piggy, puppy, sheep, and a lion. While I'll be very excited when you do start to talk, I LOVE the sweet little sounds and noises you make now, and I will miss those a lot.
We also had some beautiful weather during February. This was a particularly lovely Sunday afternoon, so we decided to walk up to Vulcan Trail and look out over our city.

We had two big snows during January and February. The first one basically shut down the entire city of Birmingham because the weather men got the forecast wrong and everyone was at work when it hit! The second one was expected, and we were all well warned. These are pictures from the second snow. Jack enjoyed the snow a lot more this time than he did the first time.

Jack and cousin Virginia both got zoo passes for Christmas!

You are the sweetest little boy, Jack Little. You have an infectious smile and the sweetest personality.
Everyday with you is a joy, and we love you very much.
Love,
Mommy
